Last week I had carpal tunnel surgery on both my left and right hands!
From what I understand carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by compression on the nerves in your hands as it travels through the carpal tunnel which caused me numbness and aching when I played guitar, cycled and affected many other of my daily activities. I would say it probably started to develop when I started drumming as a teenager, and then progressed in my 20's when I started getting serious about guitar playing and also the mowing and landscape jobs that I had did not help.
My hands are currently wrapped up with bandages and my wife Erin has had to do virtually everything for me while my hands heal, what a rockstar and a blessing she is! I have about another week of my hands being wrapped up and I am super excited to get back to guitar and cycling with no numbness or pain! I will be leading worship at Local Church (which bandage wraps still on my hands) this Sunday so please say a little prayer that I am able to play guitar with no problems.
I have been recording and mixing music while I am healing and I am excited to release new music to you all very soon!
